Making your artwork more sustainable
If you are creating a new piece of work for the exhibition, please have a think about how you can make it more sustainable to reduce its negative impact on the environment
Tips for making your practice more sustainable:
-
Consider what materials you are using. Think about: Where has it come from? What is it made of? What will happen to it once it's been used? Can it be recycled?
-
Research alternative options for materials that are: sourced locally, made from recycled materials or biodegradable
-
Think about how you can reduce your waste. Are there any organisations that can make use of your waste?
-
Make work that raises awareness around climate issues
-
Experiment with more sustainable processes
More sustainable processes:
-
Paper making
-
Natural dying
-
Natural inks
-
Charcoal making
-
Anthotypes
-
Weaving with natural or recycled materials
-
Collaging with old magazines
